FAQ
How will this fundraiser help the documentary’s distribution, outreach and global virtual release?
Our documentary is not funded by any external organisation - it is completely independent and has been a labour of love from everyone involved in its making.

Hollywood films often spend as much or more on marketing than they do on making the film itself.

Unfortunately, independent films like ours don’t have the same advantage.Independent films don’t fail because they lack care, craft, or conviction. They fail because people never hear about them.

Our portion of the ticket sales will directly fund things that are crucial to our distribution and advocacy impact. For example:
  • Translations and subtitling - this helps ensure equal access to content for audiences who are deaf or who have a hearing impairment, and non-English speakers. This makes our documentary accessible across communities and borders
  • Event costs that turn screenings into spaces for dialogue, learning and collective reflection
  • The upscale of our various software platforms and the engagement of a software engineer to bring the documentary to a bigger, global audience via a virtual event that will also be “pay what you can” (because our ethos is no one should ever be turned away for lack of funds)
  • Digital advertising and marketing materials to help the film exist beyond the edit suite. This helps our film find its audience, start important conversations and have the advocacy impact it was made to have
How do I know where my ticket is going?
If you clicked on our general “buy a virtual screening ticket” button at the top of this page, then your ticket sale will be used to help fund our global release, distribution and impact campaign.

If you accessed this page via a charity partner link, or clicked on of our specific charity partner links above, then 50% of your ticket sale (excl GST) is automatically tracked to that charity and will be donated to that charity partner.
I accessed this page through one charity but now that I see your list of charity partners, I’d like to support a different charity.
That’s totally fine. Please click on one of the charity partner links above and your ticket will be tracked to the charity you select on this page instead.
I’d like to attend an in-person screening - will I get access to the webinars?
The in-person screening tickets include the screening only as they are facilitated by the relevant cinema and screening host. To ensure you get access to the Q&A and webinars, please enter your email via the form that pops up when you click on our links to the in-person bookings.
When will you send me a link to the event?
Once you have purchased a ticket, we will send you a link to our screening and webinars on the morning of each event day. This ensures ease of access for all of our audience members.
I’d like to help the documentary team. How can I do that?
We absolutely welcome any additional help we can get! Examples of how people can help: volunteering with us to help with our physical screenings, hosting a physical screening, putting us in touch with other people who might be able to help spread the word (e.g. politicians, journalists, reviewers, celebrities, influencers), giving us a financial grant or donation to let us keep doing the work we’re doing, giving us ideas for future webinars, donating a raffle prize so that we can set up a raffle event and raise more funds for our charity partners.

Please enter in your details in the form below if you’d like to help us.
Thank you! Your submission has been received!
